Nicky relocated to Howick from Gillitts in 2009 so as to have more of the outdoor life for her son. The opportunity arose after her Managing Director sent an email around asking who’d like to move up and run the Howick Branch. And, having been in the game for thirty years Nicky was well placed for the role.
Nicky now specialises in Short Term insurance – ie. assets, anything you can see and touch, for both personal and commercial needs.
What she is most passionate about is having clients know that everything has been taken care of – that sense of peace of mind. So that, after suffering a loss, her clients can be promptly compensated and put back in the same position that they were in before the claim.
As peoples situations are dynamic (new car, pc, TV, moving house etc.), Nicky keeps in regular contact with all her clients, and is always just a phone call away.
Headaches of the job? Sometimes the staff at the insurance companies she deals with are not up to speed with all the requirements of her clients, and as a result she has to check and double check everything sent to her. That said, when we met Nicky struck me as someone who’s very conscientious and not afraid of digging in to the details if that’s what’s required to make sure something’s 100% right.
Nicky’s got two sons, her eldest being in the U.K working in building acoustics and the younger at Howick High School.
And lastly, something not many people know about Nicky? She’s a petrol-head, loves cars, and used to race Drag in Margate!
